Who
is Glenn Tilbrook?
Glenn is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is best known for
his work with the British pop band Squeeze, where he sang, played lead guitar, and wrote the music for the songs. (Chris Difford wrote the lyrics.)
Squeeze broke up in 1999, and Glenn released his first solo
album in 2001. He followed up with a second album in 2004, and is now working on his third! He tours almost constantly, and his shows are amazing.
Uh
Squeeze?
Oh dear, have I lost you already? The Squeeze songs you are most likely
to remember are "Cool For Cats" (1979), "Up the Junction"
(1979), "Tempted" (1981), "Black Coffee In Bed"
(1982), and "Hourglass" (1987). These songs all had videos
that were popular in their day, so looking at some video
stills may jog your memory! (Best bet for Americans would be "Hourglass";
for Brits probably "Cool
for Cats".) Also, glancing through the bio
section might be helpful; it has lots of pictures of the band and
album covers.
