Hi, Just back from the Glastonbury Festival, went to see Chris Difford play a great set in the Acoustic tent, including a few slightly different versions of some Squeeze songs. But the real treat to a delighted full tent was when Glenn joined him on stage to play Hourglass and Is that love.Fantastic!!!!

Sorry Maggie, can't get onto the Glennlist because my "email is bouncing"! I will have to leave the Derby review in your capable hands. Needless to say, being the last of the England leg of the tour, it was a great night. Highlights for me were seeing most of the gang again(we all missed you Mitzi and Dawn) and singing along outside in the rain while Glenn was standing on a park bench next to the Derby ring road. California Dreaming will never be the same again! See everyone in November/December?
Sue :)

Hi All! Re Glenn's hair, (Cosi Fan Tuti period) here's a funny story! Glenn & Jool's did an interview on "The Old Grey Whistle Test" (legendary British rock show) it was an outside broadcast interview , from the venue they were playing that night. They talked about reforming, the new album (Cosi Fan) etc... when the interview ended they cut back to the studio, the guy presenting the show ( I think his name was David Hepworth) exclaimed: "that has to be a wig" so lets hope those "dodgy" hair do's are well and truly a thing of the past. Grow your hair by all means Glenn, but no more Michael Bolton mullet's PLEASE!! Cheer's Then! Andy

OMG I love the orange pants! Now if Glenn could only bring the giant polka-dotty shirts out of retirement for a complete ensemble. OK, just kidding, the world is not yet ready for that.
I think Glenn is naturally curly; I theorize that a perm could not hold up to sweat stress of Glenn's gigs. With longer hair I think he looks kind of like Robert Plant but Glenn is holding up much better!
Your site, as always, is awesome, Corn.

COOL trousers!! I note also from the pic, that Glenn seems to be growing his hair again, and quite curly too. Is it a perm or naturally curly? Personally I think his hair suited him better long (circa Some Fantastic Place). Anyone agree or care to disagree? Take care fellow fans, Meg.

Hi... I was just wondering if anyone could help me. I haven't bought THE BIG SQUEEZE (mainly because I've got pretty much all the songs on it many times over), but I heard that in the sleeve notes, Chris Difford remarked that he wasn't happy with HEAVEN KNOWS. Now, since this is one of the most gorgeous songs I can think of (on the album) but merely a Pretty Good Song by the time it made it into the charts, can anybody enlighten me as to which version is on Big Sq? And does Chris really say that he wasn't happy with it? Ta muchly.

One more thing - I have to take issue with the discussion about PULLING MUSSELS: it's really Jools's piano solo that stands out in that particular song, don't you think?

Glenn's guitar skills aren't bad at all. It's a bit over the top to claim he's amazing, but he certainly plays well, and often sympathetically to the song. His solo on SFP (the track, rather than the album) is perfectly balanced with the rest of the music, for instance. Having said that, he did pretty much play a blinder on the 'American reggea' version of GOODBYE GIRL (B-side to LOVING YOU TONIGHT, I think).

hey john, i have the live performance video, i really don't see glenns electric guitar skills as breathtaking but i do see his acoustic as breathtaking definately, i LOVE the vanity fair acoustic, thats AMAZING, my fave part is the guitar part he does between Compact case her eyes at 1m 51 seconds and his solos on acoustic, his electric stuff isn't as good as his acoustic i'd say, i'd hate to have fingers like him, all the callouses, i'm having trouble with them right now!!!

Michael, to fully appreciate Glenn's electric guitar work try getting hold of a copy of the live albums " Squeeze at The Royal Albert Hall" or "Around and About" your friend wil soon realize just how good an electric giutar player Glenn is after listening to either of the above mentioned live albums. Acoustic or electric Glenn's guitar skills are BREATHTAKING!! Few can sing and play lead at the same time...but Glenn does with ease. GLENN ROCKS!!

hi, i know hes awesome, he is an awesome acoustic guitarist, i'm not sure about his electric guitar stuff, i told someone to listen to pulling mussels from a shell and thats the most guitar orientated one i could think of and the person said "hes not that good, such a weak solo in it" i think his acoustic stuff is amazing, hes GREAT at playing/singing at same time like eric clapton did, must be so hard, i wonder how many other top guitarists could do that, one of my guitar idols is Joe Walsh and i dunno if he does that well, but he tries

fantastic site, big fan of the s22 vids and the vanity fair especially, its really well done on guitar, the solo for SFP is great, never heard him do a solo for the song before on his taylor, his hourglass riff was great, people say he isn't a great guitarist but he is, the eagles are another top band of mine, yes joe walsh and don felder and even glenn frey are good guitarists but glenn tilbrooks just as a good as an acoustic guitarist if not better than the 3 of them, glenns tilbrooks got probably the best voice aswell, squeeze were 1st band i ever listened to and i have always listened to them and seen them live 3 times (ridiculous line up with don snow, domino lineup minus chris difford and chris holland, glenn tilbrook with chris difford) and glenn on his own once or twice, my parents have seen them in my hometown dundee, and him on his own a few times, great guy he really is

I saw Glen at The Limelight in Crewe (great venue if you've never been) in 2001 or 2002 not sure now but it was an awesome performance - Hendrix's Voodoo Chile was simply unbelievable on an acoustic!
I've ben looking around for some guitar tabs for anything off "The Incomplete..." and I can't find a thing, I was hoping to find some tabs for Parallel World, Other World, Randy Newman etc - none of the songs from "Incomplete" show up in any of the Squeeze tabs either - I'm sure there must be some out there - let me know if there's somewhere I should look.

This site rocks! I live in the states and I've loved Glenn since The Hourglass caught my attention in the Babylon and On days! I remember going out and getting every Squeeze related item I could find. In my neck of the woods, it's sometimes hard to find a fellow fan so you can imagine my joy at finding this site. Glenn you are simply the best! Much congratulations to you and Suzanne on your bundle of joy.

Congratulations to Glenn,Suzanne and Baby Boy ! Happy Valentines Day to everyone !According to the Readers Digest Universal Dictionary, Glenn, you've spelt "palaver " correctly. I usually end up with a raspberry pavlova. And in all of this Glenn's had time to write some new songs. Can't wait to hear them ! Love Completely Sue xxx

Nice site for one of my favourite artists - I'll be checking it out in the future. I haven't heard much of Glenn since hearing a lovely interview + some songs he recorded for BBC Radio Wales a couple of years back.
UK fans wanting to check out the Aimee Mann song "Backfire" with Glenn's backing vocals need only buy/beg/steal/borrow the UK version of her "Bachelor #2" album.

Great Site for a Great Musician! Keep the news/updates coming. Can't wait for Glenn to make another swing through the Midwest or better yer, for me to make another trip across the pond to see some more shows in the UK. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Cheers,
Bret

Wow!! Last night's gig in Liverpool was the first time I've seen Glenn live and I gotta say it was fantastic. I didn't realise he was so hyperactive!! Calm down Glenn!!
Favourite bits: All the classics, a good few of the new ones, plus "From A Whisper To A Scream". Ace!!

Good site. I've loved Squeeze ever since they first came out in the seventies, and the early songs were the best Up The Junction and Cool For Cats... classics!
