Saw Glenn perform brilliantly as usual last night (Nov. 28) at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach (near San Diego. I must say it was one of the most enjoyable shows I've seen him perform. Not a large crowd, but that made it all the more intimate. Nice selection of songs, both old (Take me I'm Yours) and new (This is where you ain't) and obscure (No Place Like Home). Of course, he performed his gems such as Picadilly and Is That Love, and did a blistering acoustic (!) version of Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Chile. Amazing. His guitar playing was stunning...he just gets better and better. Did a singalong Tempted off the stage in the crowd, and then during Pulling Mussels, sang atop the "Glenn Tilbrook Portable Stage." I can't explain:-)... witty, clever and brilliant. Don't miss him if youhave a chance!

I've been a Squeeze fan and was eager to catch Glenn at his solo show in Houston on 11/24/2001. Very enjoyable - a spirited performance and lots of fun (particularly watching him do "Hourglass" by himself, as well as taking on a Hendrix tune). I've ordered his new CD, and I'm sure I won't be disappointed. Be sure and go see him if you have the chance.

Just got home from New Orleans where I flew up to see Glenn at the House of Blues. Brilliant show! I saw the final show of the final Squeeze tour a few years ago here in South Florida & have been dying to see them again. This was the next best thing... He was witty as always, moving the show to the back of the club to shut up the chatters at the bar. He played a couple of my requests (Some Fantastic Place, Hourglass) and a good mix of old Squeeze, some rarities & plenty of new solo stuff. Can't wait to see him again (with or without the rest of Squeeze). Thanks for the site & the chance to rave about the concert!

I am entranced by Glenn's voice. Way back in the 1980s I had the pleasure of seeing Glenn with Squeeze in Wash, DC. For now, I will have to settle for a Tilbrook serenade in the confines of my home and car. What a way to go!
A fan since the "slap and tickle" days, Mary Bird

Saw GT at the Toms River Library on Saturday afternoon. He was in his usual top form. 'Picadilly' & 'Elephant Ride' were the highlights for me. Made a jaunt outside midway through show. GT made crowd march 'Chinese Army' style through parking lot during 'Goodbye Girl' Performed 'Is That Love' perched on top of drive-up book return. Saw him in NYC later that night. Lots of rarities. 'Touching Me, Touching You', 'Maidstone', 'No Place Like Home', etc. Both shows were packed house. It's funny, I feel like I'm the only person on the planet who has even heard of Squeeze until I go to a show, and the squeezers crawl out of the woodwork. Where are the traders at? Drop a line...

I saw Glenn perform about 2 weeks ago (mid Oct.) in the most unlikely place - the food court of Grand Central Station in NYC! I don't think the show was even advertised - the set was a white board saying that "It's the bloke from Squeeze", and that he was performing to help out New York. Just Glenn and an accoustic guitar with about 50 people around him yelling out songs to play -- it was great!!!! The best part was the encore, when Glenn pulled off his guitar, ran right past me up the stairs, and right back down the stairs on the other side!!! I bought the solo CD right there and have not stopped listening to it since then!

Widnes last night - probably the oddest gig i've been to......
Poor Glenn broke the D string on his 6 string then broke the same string on his 12 string in the space of two songs. After re-stringing he started again and was then the sole victim of a killer moth attack, Held his own marvellously though,
Audience participation was very good with a congo-line being the order of the day! No trips outside but very funny all the same.
Clothes report - jean and trainers like earlier this week and the blue billabong t-shirt (which he lifted up at one point and we got to see a glimpse of his tum mmmm!).
I converted 2 people into Glenn fans on Tuesday at Chester and managed to convert another last night so all and all a very successful week.
Cheers Glenn for another stormer - finishing with Another Nail last night was pretty much the best way to end another Glenn-tastic week. Roll on December.

I forgot to mention something that made me really proud, the other evening, when I saw Glenn doing the gig for radio Wales. The young guy that came on before Glenn, to play a couple of tracks, Rhodri or Teflon Monkey ,is a fiend of my daughters and she now plays bass for the band that he left to do his own thing. He has since been signed to The Super Furry Animals label, but is now with a different label.

Was a great show at the Charlotte , Leicester last night. Funniest moment was to see the face of the woman in the pub around the corner when around 75 people followed Glenn pied piper style into the lounge singing "Goodbye Girl"! She didn't look too happy..but then again it was well past last orders! Sorry that a group of people who couldn't hold there alcohol couldn't stop talking very loudly during the set and put Glenn off slightly, but it didn't spoil the enjoyment. Thanks Glenn....roll on Derby in December.

Hi Corina ! You are so up to date with your site. Many thanks! Went to see Glenn at the BBC club in Llandaff, just outside Cardiff, yesterday evening.Amazing, over two and a half hours of music and chat recorded live for BBC radio Wales, which is to be aired on sat 10th Nov at 7.30 pm. A very small venue, great atmosphere, helped along by the fact that the presenter and the producer are both big Squeeze, Glenn fans.

Got to see Glenn again after a gap of 2 years having decided to come and live upside down in New Zealand.A typically slow to get enthusiastic New Zealand audience eventually responding to Glenn on his first visit to NZ.A smattering of songs off the new album ,a choice of hits ( always inevitably leaving out some of my favourites but then Glenn can't play all night, can he?), and a mesmerising acoustic cover of Hendrix's Voodoo Chile . Oh , and if Glenn ever gives up the singing he proved to us kiwi's that he has a future in furniture removals! I'll try to post some pics when I get them. Don't stay away too long Glenn.

Ok, so apparently YAHOO didn't take very seriously my request to make this site their pick of the week. I think this would be an important distinction not only for our darling Web mistress, but for Glenn "nice trousers, mate" Tilbrook. So, if you would like to show your appreciation, admiration or just simply use your stalking energy for some good, write Yahoo a little note at suggest-picks@yahoo-inc.com, and tell them how beneficial the Unofficial Glenn Tilbrook Site is humanity.

Great site. How about collecting some more Squeeze/GT "live" MP3s - there's not enough live material available

I attended the perfomance of glen's here in Detroit. Not only was the concert magnificent, but at one point, during "Slap and Tickle", he asked if someone from the audience would be good enough to come up and provide a Gm chord so he could take a solo. My friends started yelling my name, and before you know it I'm standing on stage next to GLENN TILBROOK!! The first thing Glenn says is to ask me which of his guitars I'd prefer, either the six or the twelve. I said the twelve, since he already had the six strapped on.He tells me we're going to stay on Gm for a bit, then go to Cm, back to Gm, a couple times. I say cool, no problem. He then reels off 4 more chords which fly right through my brain and out, but I still say, "no problem". Then he asks me if I would like a solo! I start to elevate slightly above the stage!, but politely decline his offer. It turned out really well, all in all. I actually did solo. In fact, we jammed for a bit, and the audience really got into it. Needless to say, it was the thrill of a lifetime. When he came out to the lobby afterwards to meet people, my friend Reggie and I decided to do a tune for Glenn and those gathered. We had actually come to the show prepared to possibly sit in with Glenn, because he had allowed this the last time he was here in 1997. Reggie and I have a band that has been doing covers of Squeeze, Dave Edmunds, Elvis Costello, and the like. So our choice for the tune to do was, "From a Whisper to a Scream", and, as a joke, ask Glenn to sing the Elvis part, because Reg prefers Glenn's part. So, it's finally our turn to talk to Glenn. I start the tune on an acoustic I'd brought, and Reggie NAILS the opening of the verse. Then, without any hesitation whatsoever, Glenn jumps in. These two are just incredible singing this song..And I'm standing there, two feet away-again!, from Glenn Tilbrook. He is, needless to say, a truly fine gentleman, and a personal musical hero. Afterward, someone told us that the event had been captured by someone on videotape. This is the reason, beyond sharing the experience, for this entry. Was anyone out there in cyberspace there that night? And if so, do you know who that was that videotaped that lobby performance? Please contact me with any information. It would be greatly appreciated. My name is Art Burke, and I can be reached at burkebunch3@netzero.net

I saw Glenn’s Chicago show (w/ Marshall Crenshaw) and it blew me away!!!! We sat in the front row (or table) and were just in awe! It was so intimate and personal...just beautiful! He has such a great voice and he is such an accomplished guitarist...not to mention a genuinely nice fellow. We have been Squeeze/GT fanz since the early 80’s (I know...that IS a long time!) Anyway, I was wondering if Glenn or Squeeze are planning on coming back to the US soon?! Or will it be in a year or two? Hopefully sooner than later...I can’t wait to see him/them again! Peace.

HAHA! Corina, your caption under the latest Glenn picture (Soooooooome fantastic place) made my day! You are such a wit, I would come to your site even if I DIDN'T like Glenn.
I wouldn't be surprised if it weren't a Yahoo "Cool Pick" any day now.

Happy belated birthday, Glenn! (Didn't get a chance to type it before now.)
Thanks for the site, Corina. Never in a million years did I believe the toothbrush thing until today...
