U.K.
Tour Dates!
-and-
Glennmovie.com Anniversary Bonanza!
April 17, 2003
Quixotic
has put up some of the tour dates for Glenn's May/June U.K.
tour! Have a look on the Quixotic
site. More will be added as they are confirmed.
It's
the one year anniversary of Glennmovie.com,
the site for the in-progress documentary about Glenn, One
For The Road. They've gone all out in the celebrations,
launching a fantastic new merchandise
section, an update on the movie's progress in the diary,
and a highly entertaining sample
of some of the film's footage. SEE Glenn shop at Tarjay! HEAR
Glenn sing "By The Light of the Cash Machine" live!
And SHARE a very special RV moment with Glenn and crew! I guarantee
you will love it.
So
that you may enjoy the new clip in its full glory, I have previewed
all of the various download options at the site. If you have
a high speed connection, I strongly urge you to download the
highest quality version, because the movie window is much bigger
and clearer, and the sound is fantastic! Also, the RealMedia
versions of all the files are far superior to QuickTime. (I
didn't try Microsoft Media Player). If you have a dial-up connection,
read on.
Okay,
I still recommend you download the highest quality one (for
500k DSL/cable) or the second highest (for 250k DSL/cable).
You do not need a modem that speed to view the video if you
can download it to your hard drive, but the download will of
course be long! The files are about 5.8 MB for the second best
quality, and about 12 MB for the best one. If you just can't
be bothered to wait for those big files, download a smaller
one; it's still totally worth seeing!
To
download the file you want, just right-click on it and select
"Download to disk" or "Save link as
"
from the popup menu. If you have a Mac, click on the one you
want and hold the button down, then choose from the popup menu.
If you have AOL and use AOL's browser, I think it may be impossible
to download the file to your hard drive. In that case you will
have to stream at whatever speed your modem is, as the download
page indicates, or ask a friend to download it for you and put
it on a CD.
Have
fun, everyone! And don't forget to check out the merch
page, which sports new tees in many styles and sizes, plus
lots of other fun stuff.

Article

Clear
April 8, 2003
Things
have been quiet on the Glenn news front, as he's been busy bonding
with his newest son, putting the finishing touches on his live
solo album, and planning his May/June UK tour. However, Helen
did manage to find this excellent Glenny article in Queen
Size Music.
Glenn's
studio has also recently been occupied by British pop band Clear,
who recorded their debut album there. Produced by Andy Metcalfe
(co-producer of Glenn's solo album), the CD won't hit the stores
until June. But you can find out more about the band and listen
to three full-length mp3s of their songs at ClearWeb.org.
The album will be released on a new label called Invisible Hands
Music.

Other news

Helen
sent in some really gorgeous pictures from last week's gigs
in Ashton and
Bolton.
Glenn's hair is reaching Some Fantastic Place Era length, which
was appreciated by many in attendance.
The
Bolton Evening News printed this
small piece on Glenn (including very nice photo!)
DJ
Nick DiBiasio, who has interviewed Glenn on a regular basis
over the years, and also provided on-air (and netcast!) music
for the Glenn List parties, has been nominated for this year's
Worcester Sound Awards! If you'd like to vote for him, drop
by Wormtown.org.
Scroll down to the bottom right of the page to find Nick listed
under "Best Local Music DJ."

Meet Baby Tilbrook!
February 25, 2003

"Hello,
my name is _____!"*
The
youngest Tilbrook, having survived his first attack by the paparazzi,
is shown here at only one week old. A preemie, he weighed in
at 5 lb. 4 oz. when he was born. As far as I know, he remains
nameless, although many suggestions have been made. Personally,
I'm hoping he'll be named in the David Bowie tradition: Zilbrook
Tilbrook.
*Note
[added June 13th]: This child did eventually get named! He is
Leon Nelson Hunt Tilbrook, although he will always remain Zilbrook
to me.
On
to tour information! Glenn's March dates have been canceled,
but are due to be rescheduled for May. Actually, Suzanne's exact
words were "moved to the May tour", which sounds promising.
The
dates for this week are going ahead (see Quixotic
tour dates).
Glenn's
live, acoustic CD seems to be nearing completion! He expects
to release it in May.

Note from Glenn
February 15, 2003
A
few more dates have been added to Glenn's upcoming
U.K. tour, in Stockton and Birmingham.
On
a more personal note
For those who don't know what the heck a "palaver"
is (it's not in common use in the U.S.), it's something
that makes a big commotion, takes a long time, possibly requiring
a lot of picky details, but comes out right in the end. I assume
he is referring to all the hospital stuff, and not the birth
itself!
Congratulations,
Glenn and Suzanne!

Tourlet
February 9, 2003
Quixotic
Records has announced four U.K. tour dates coming up soon in
Ashton-Under-Lyne, Farnworth (Bolton), Widnes,
and Perth & Kinross. My guess is that there will
be a few more shows added (since it doesn't say 'complete' yet),
but probably not many. For ticket info, please visit the Quixotic
site.
Happy
Valentine's Day!

GlennMovie update
January 23, 2003
Susan
sent in some really
nice snaps from Liverpool. They are a bit dark, but otherwise
excellent, so turn up your screen brightness and enjoy!
Amy
of GlennMovie.com
has updated her tour
diary with the latest tales from the road, where she was
shooting some pickup shots for her Glenn documentary. She also
gives us the lowdown on where the documentary stands now. If
you haven't been to the site before, I highly recommend taking
a look around, as it features some great photos and lots of
other interesting stuff!
PopMatters
did a nice review of Glenn's recent show at the Viper Room in
Los Angeles, and just to prove that Glenn really did visit the
Pacific Northwest (U.S.) the tour before last, here is an ad
for his show in Seattle.
WICN
interview

LA Weekly article
January 3, 2003
Glenn
did a surprise interview on WICN during the Glenn List party
on November 23rd. He said hi to us all and declared, "I'm
partying with you, here in Chattanooga!" He chatted with
DJ Nick DiBiasio for about a half hour. You can download the
interview by clicking here
(about 1 MB).
LA
Weekly Review did a nice piece on Glenn, but you have to
scroll down a bit to find it on their web site. Look for "Glenn
Tilbrook, Viper Room", which is the third story on that
page.
Happy
New Year, everyone!
